What

How
do mortgage brokers get paid?
Do you charge a fee for your service?
Generally the lender pays the broker a commission (or finders fee) for
arranging the loan with the borrower. Typically you do not have to pay
the broker. A fee may be charged for commercial or hard to place mortgages
(where a finders fee is not paid by the lender). If we charge you a fee
then you will be informed before any work commences.

is CIMBL?
Why use a CIMBL Member?
CIMBL stands for the Canadian Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders.
CIMBL is a regulated organization of over 8,500 members representing over
90% of Canada's mortgage activity. CIMBL members include mortgage lenders,
brokers, insurers and other industry stakeholders.
When
you choose a CIMBL member you are provided with the added security of
knowing you're dealing with a mortgage representative bound by a strict
Code of Ethics. Through our communication programs, CIMBL members are
kept up-to-date on important industry issues and changes that may affect
the way they handle your business. Many of our members take advantage
of professional development opportunities by attending some of the many
continuing education conferences and events designed to keep them informed
of the latest industry advancements.
What
is the AMP designation?
AMP stands for Accredited Mortgage Professional. This
designation was created and is maintained by the Canadian Institute of
Mortgage Brokers and Lenders. The AMP designation is the only national
designation for mortgage professionals in Canada. To obtain the AMP designation
you have to be a member in good standing of CIMBL, have been in the mortgage
industry for at least 2 years and completed the appropriate educational
requirements. To maintain this designation annual continuing education
courses are required. |
